Investor Relations, IR is the sphere of activity which is on crossing of the finance, the rights and PR.
Origin of term IR
The term «Investor Relations», (IR) has been formulated in 1953 by Ralph Cordiner, the chairman of board of directors of American company General Electric. Duties of the first IR-services consisted in distribution of the financial information on the company or press releases about financial results and annual reports.
Professional associations of Investor Relations
In 1969 in the USA the professional association - National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) has been created. Later the similar organisations have appeared in Brazil, the Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Finland, France, Japan and other countries, and in 1990 they have united in the International Investor Relations Federation (IIRF).

Ukrainian Association of Investor Relations (UAIR)
The
Ukrainian Association of Investor Relations (UAIR) was registered in Ukraine in November, 5th, 2008. The managing
partners of companies AvantCapital and Investor Relations Agency are
founders of UAIR.
Definition of Investor Relations
The National Investor Relations Institute defines concept «Investor Relations» (IR) as a kind of strategic marketing activity of the company including questions of disclosing of the information, the financial policy and granting to existing and potential investors of adequate data on a current state of affairs in the company and about its prospects.
